dA is the BEST place for tutorials...
Seriously, I'm not joking. There are a couple of other sites I frequent that have some good Photoshop tutorials, but it seems to me like dA's tutorial galleries are populated with better tutorials that were written BY the artists, FOR the artists. No tacky "how to make a pixel stretch" or "how to blend celebrities in 5 seconds" here.

For Real, I Swear
Yeah, yeah, I know, LOOOONGGG absence from DeviantART. So shoot me. But I've got my subscription back, and I feel like I'm starting to get back into my design groove again, so I'm back to DA.
I've got a manipulation up my sleeve (just gathering the right stock at this point), plus I'm plotting this domain switcheroo in which my personal site becomes my portfolio, and I get a new domain for my personal site. Confusing? Nah. That's two new layouts I get to play with. Actually, I'm planning on reviving a certain portfolio layout I never used. It'll be fun, right?

Holy wow, is she back?
Yes she is! Or she's attempting to be. I really want to get back into this. My graphical skills have been sucking really bad, and as much as I love coding, a lot of time, graphics have to come first.
Right now I'm working on two layouts simultaneously... more importantly, the Autumn-Sky redesign (SERIOUSLY, every time I turn around I'm redesigning this site... this time though, it's as a gift), and less importantly, a WordPress theme. It's based on my current site design over at Melilyn. If you're interested.

National Novel Writing Month... 30 days to write a novel of about 176 pages. 50,000 words. I'm really excited, and in just a little bit, I'm going to be starting the next chapter. You'll probably hear a lot about that this month.Actually, I'm vaguely cheating. I'm finishing a novel I already started, but just barely. Seasons Past, remember that? Basically, that just means I don't have to waste the first week just coming up with an idea and a plot and all of that.

I've actually completed a free wordpress theme for public release. Hooray, aren't you proud of me? HOWEVER, here's the bad news. This theme cannot be released until it has a suitable home. You know what that means?
It means the pressure's really on for me to get Chartreusian back up.

I'd like to take the moment to point you all to ardcor's account. His brushes are amazing, and he's had to threaten to stop making them. Why? Because he can't afford the bandwidth he needs to keep his brushes on his site. He's asking for donations, and I've always been in the position of either a) having the ability to be creative but lacking the resources I need or b) wanting to support someone but, again, lacking the resources I need. Any and all of you who want to support the amazing artists on deviantART, think about dropping him a couple of pounds to put toward his website. Here's a preview of his work:
